Do you want to volunteer?

Who Can Be a Volunteer

We are looking for volunteer who are 18 and older. To be a volunteer you need to have some understanding of Autism. It's important to understand that we are a neurodivergence affirming program - this means that we accept people as they are and believe that Autism is a difference in the way the brain processes information and not a problem that needs to be corrected or cured.

Understand - Accept - Connect

All of our volunteers commit to giving of their time at no cost to the organization or the teens and young adults they support. The amount of time you commit is completely up to you, and will look different for each person. This program is about connection and creating relationships for autistic teens and young adults who generally feel left out and different.

Safety First

Safety for our autistic teens and young adults is our number one priority. In order to become a volunteer, you will have to complete an intake form, have an interview with the Executive Director or Assistant Director, have a background check and participate in training related to child safety, boundaries, and mandated reporting. You will be supported during your time through meetings with a program supervisor.

Want to Help in a Different Way?

Can't commit to being a volunteer, but you still want to help out? This non-profit is 100% volunteer run. We can always use people to help behind the scenes with marketing, fundraising, event planning, etc. etc. etc. Let us know if you want to help out in this way!

Still Want to Know More?

Do you still have questions or want to find out more? We offer virtual informational meetings for people interested in learning more about being a volunteer for Autism Unplugged.
